In December 2000, the United Nations in conjunction with international governments, NGOs and the diamond industry created a special resolution. Member nations representing 81 countries joined together to enact a multilateral trade regime known as, The Kimberly Process. This process introduced strict chain-of-custody protocols with complete assurances that diamonds meeting the Kimberly Process certification standards do not fund conflicts. Today, as a result of these efforts, we can proudly say 99.8% of diamonds are certified conflict-free.
